Chairman of the Board

Brian Spearman

Brian is a native son of Saratoga Springs, formerly a Senior Vice President of PepsiCo. Brian Spearman is currently Chairman of the Thoroughbred syndication group Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners. His experience in Marketing, Business Management, and strengths in financial oversight are prized qualifications for the chairman. .

Past Chairman of the Board

Paul Oreffice

Paul is the retired Chairman and CEO of the Dow Chemical Company. He was with the company for almost 40 years with the last 14 as President/CEO and/or Chairman. Paul was born in Venice, Italy. At age 17, Paul moved to the United States and enrolled at Purdue University speaking fewer than 50 words of English. He graduated with a BS degree in Chemical Engineering. Paul authored a book, Only in America, in which he shares his inspiring and fascinating journey of immigrating to America.

Paul served long terms on the boards of Coca Cola, Morgan Stanley, CIGNA, Nortel, and the New York Racing Association. He is the retired Chairman of the National Parkinson Foundation and currently serves on the Visiting Board of MD Anderson Cancer Center. He received Spain's highest civilian award and is the only recipient ever of the 3 medals awarded by the world's chemical organizations.
Paul and his wife JoAnn live in Paradise Valley, AZ and Saratoga Springs. An avid horseman in his youth, for the last 25 years he has been a Thoroughbred owner and a daily visitor to the Saratoga Race Track during the season.

Jim Price


James H. Price III (“Jim”)

Jim is a Retired Partner of McGuireWoods LLP, a law firm in Richmond, VA, where he had an extensive career in civil-litigation practice. Jim received his B.A. from Washington and Lee University and graduated from University of Richmond Law School, serving in the U.S. Air Force for four years in between. Since his retirement, Jim has been volunteering in a variety of capacities, including visiting wounded military service members at Walter Reed Hospital and at the VA Hospital in Richmond, VA. In 2008, Jim earned the Robert M. Freeman Volunteer of the Year Award, given by the Virginia Institute of Marine Science.

Jim lives with his wife, Jan, in Richmond, VA and they spend a significant amount of time in Saratoga Springs throughout the year.



Sharyn Neble

Sharyn Neble is a philanthropist and community activist in the Greater Boston and Saratoga Springs, New York regions. Sharyn dedicates her time to serving on the Boards of Directors of a variety of human services agencies and organizations, specifically those dedicated to the rehoming and care of thoroughbred horses.

In addition to her service to The Greater Boston Food Bank, Sharyn serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Development Committee for the Boston Public Library Foundation.

Notable past volunteer experiences include: serving as Treasurer of the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, Overseer of Lasalle College, and member of the Board of Directors for the New England Conservatory Charter School.

Sharyn spent 18 years working in the consumer product industry, including as a CEO and Board Member, before she transitioned into the non-profit sector, focusing on human services. She is also an alumna of Skidmore College.


Development Chairwoman

Anne Campbell

Anne and her husband, Cot Campbell, are best known for owning the prominent Dogwood Stables.

Anne's passion for Saratoga WarHorse stems from recognition that suicide prevention from the VA is inadequate. After meeting the young widow of a veteran who committed suicide after struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress, Anne said, “I knew that was unacceptable and I knew Saratoga WarHorse's program was really changing lives, so I jumped on board.”

Anne was instrumental in bringing Saratoga WarHorse to Aiken, South Carolina. She recently received the 2017 Aiken “Woman of the Year” award from the Women’s Leadership Council of the United Way of Aiken County. She has also served on many boards including: New York Race Track Chaplaincy Association, United Way of Aiken County, Green Boundary Club, Friends of Hopeland Gardens, United Way of Atlanta, President of the Atlanta Junior League and others.

Board Member

Robert Murphy

As a Marine Corps veteran completing over 20 years of service as a Chief Warrant Officer-4, he held the position of Immediate Response Force Executive Officer and Operations Officer assigned to 4th Marine Expeditionary Force Anti-Terrorism. Mr. Murphy led Marines in both national and international operations participating in Operations Enduring Freedom and Noble Eagle.

Following his military service, Mr. Murphy served on Capitol Hill as the Director, United Stated Capitol Police Special Operations Unit protecting Congress from Weapons of Mass Destruction threats.

In his current position, he established a success center for veteran and military students, which has seen a 116% enrollment increase, and a rapid increase in retention, progression, and graduation rates. Among several other prestigious awards, Military Times ranks USC Aiken as the #1 Best for Vets Universities in South Carolina. Mr. Murphy’s veteran and military student success practices are often cited as a national model for holistic reintegration and success services through collaborative community partnerships.

Mr. Murphy holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of South Carolina Aiken. He completed all of his formal education optimizing his Post 9/11 G.I. Bill.

Board Member

Jim Pabis

Jim Pabis has been in the military and in business for the last 25 years.

He is a US Army Colonel currently serving in the NY Army National Guard. He has commanded at Company, Detachment, Battalion and Brigade Levels. He is an Iraq War Veteran serving in Baghdad in 2006-07 during "the surge". He participated in the homeland response to "9-11", hurricanes Irene and Sandy, Polar Vortex and the June Floods. His military awards include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, and the Global War on Terrorism Medal.

He is also President of Saratoga Source, LLC an executive search firm which he founded almost 18 years ago.

He has served as Chairman of the Board of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Saratoga Economic Development Corporation Board, Treasurer of the Wesley Foundation Board, Vice President of the Unlimited Potential Board and Member of the Saratoga National Bank Advisory Board.

He is a graduate of Northeastern University and has an MBA from the Sage Graduate School. He is also a graduate of the US Army War College,the US Army Command and General Staff College and numerous other military schools.

He lives local with his wife Sandy and son Chandler.

Jim Perella

Jim Perella

Jim is a retired Senior Consumer Products Executive. He spent the majority of his career developing privately-held Lasko Products, Inc. into the nation's largest electric fan manufacturer. His management skills are diverse and have afforded him the opportunity to build strong management teams throughout his career.

Jim has served on the Lasko Products Board of Directors, and the Board of Directors for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Chester County, PA, including service as President for two years.
He and his wife Diana live in West Chester, PA and summer in Saratoga Springs, NY and Stone Harbor, NJ. Both have love for horses and an understanding of how horses benefit the human spirit.

Jim's other interests include the Wetlands Institute of Stone Harbor and the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance which function to improve the environment for humans and animals. He is also a thoroughbred enthusiast and horse owner.
